we are community and it’s bigger than you and me just look at the beautiful patchwork of endless variety. We are more than the words we say so much more than the flags we wave can’t we all light a lantern of welcome for travellers out finding their way. we’ve got the time for another chorus stoke up the fire got the road before us raise up your glass to all the people living with hope for the common good we are one neighbourhood. we can regenerate alter the path we take hoping to find a causeway an overlap in the great divide. o if we could memorise that kindness can multiply we will light up a spark that is burning infinitely after we’re gone. we’ve got the time for another chorus stoke up the fire got the road before us raise up your glass to all the people living with hope for the common good we are one neighbourhood…

day is done and the darkness falls from the wings of night as a feather is wafted down from an eagle in her flight. i see the lights of the village gleam through the rain and through the mist i feel a sadness coming over me that i cannot resist. o sing to me the simple poetry that can soothe this restless feeling not from grand auld masters lost in time a humbler bard to me does sing. whose songs gush from her heart as showers from clouds of summer who through the night devoid of ease still heard the melodies. day is done and the darkness falls sorrow drowning in the moonlight these cares that infest the day they shall silently slip away as the cricket calls the tune every word a fine benediction o step into the poet’s rhyme and cherish the beautiful sounds of the night.
